It only let's you but the substandard and overly priced items from they website. It's like buying dollar store items for 5 times as much. And they charge shipping per item. Stay far away unless you're going to use it like I do and find something stupid once a month under 20 just to keep the available credit on your report.

I am 28 and never had a credit score, but thanks to Fingerhut(a company I forgot still existed), I managed to get approved for their store card and then get a credit score a month later. My only three complaints are that...

1) The product prices on Fingerhut are well above the retail price of the products elsewhere.

2) The products to choose from are very limited

3) Their website doesn't update you on the "Minimum Amount Due" or the "Due Date", so you'll have to call Fingerhut for that info since their webmaster doesn't know what in the heck he's doing.

If you have this card and fall behind on your payments. web bank will turn you over to midland collections (finghut owns them) and they will take you to court but they never give you a date to apper so they get a default judgment then the sweep your bank accounts... Do your self a favor and pass on the finghut card.

This card is great if you are building or rebuilding your credit. I just make small purchases and pay it off quickly. I believe the key to avoiding the intrest rate is to pay weekly. I purchased a laptop and I make my payments weekly so I never pay any fees..Good luck

Really terrible company

Probably the worst company I've ever had to deal with. They offer NO solutions when their customers are dealing with an issue, even when it's the company's fault. They over charge for items which would be okay to overlook if they actually cared about their customers and honored the expected delivery dates. I'm completely unsatisfied with this company and I will be canceling my account with them. NEVER sign up with this company.

  • Knowing your credit score and what's on your credit report can help you determine what products to apply for. If you have fair credit, for example, you may not want to apply for a card that clearly states that only applicants with excellent credit will be approved.
  • If you don't have good credit, you may find it difficult to get approved for a card with a large sign-up bonus and a lucrative reward structure. Each credit card application ends up on your credit report, so the Nerds recommend using our credit cards comparison tool to find a card that fits your credit profile before applying.
  • If the card allows balance transfers, you may request to have balances transferred from other credit card accounts to the new card.
  • To apply for a credit card in the US, you’ll need a valid Social Security number and a positive credit history. The best rewards credit cards may require at least three to five years of good credit history, and some more than seven.
