- Knowing your credit score and what's on your credit report can help you determine what products to apply for. If you have fair credit, for example, you may not want to apply for a card that clearly states that only applicants with excellent credit will be approved.
- If you don't have good credit, you may find it difficult to get approved for a card with a large sign-up bonus and a lucrative reward structure. Each credit card application ends up on your credit report, so the Nerds recommend using our credit cards comparison tool to find a card that fits your credit profile before applying.
- If the card allows balance transfers, you may request to have balances transferred from other credit card accounts to the new card.
- To apply for a credit card in the US, you’ll need a valid Social Security number and a positive credit history. The best rewards credit cards may require at least three to five years of good credit history, and some more than seven.

I had this card and at the begging it was great, however i had an issue when i was told i would get interest free for a full year due to a promotion they were having. When i checked i had interest fees like crazy i called and asked why this was happening and they told me they had no idea about the promotion i had explained to them about. they escalated my case and told me they could get back to me within a week; surprise they didn't call me back and i called to speak to the manager, she was not much help and told me i had to pay the balance off right away if i didn't want the interest to keep adding up. I was disgusted with the whole situation so i paid my balance and cancelled my account. If could rate this card half a star i would.
"I recently got 2 fraudulent charges and I immediately notified the bank. They canceled the card, reverted fraudulent charges and sent me new card. So far so good.
I tried to use new card but it got denied. I called customer service and I was told that my credit card was canceled because it was delinquent. I had this card since 2006 and it had automatic payment of minimal balance. So how could it be delinquent? Well, PNC will transfer the balance from old card to new one but they will NOT transfer automatic payments, so you are in for surprise with $35 late fee and canceled credit card which will of course is going to damage your credit score. What a mess. I am disgusted with the way I was treated, I did not do anything wrong or malicious, always paid my balance but was discarded by PNC like a bag of trash.
Terrible card can not be found anywhere else in the country.customer service will make you more miserable, no body really can help you,but make things more confused and wast you lot of time... SKIP PNC Bank deal. just like skip a nightmare!!
"They lured me in by promising 50,000 points for $500 spend. Then they change the terms months later saying I really needed $750 spend....but oh your time has run out already. Too bad, tough luck, you get NO POINTS! Do not even THINK of getting this card!!!
"They like to put a late payment fee when you pay on time. And also the interest fee even you pay before the due date. You don't tired of just complaining but they don't listen it will it just west of time
